Application Situation

Chassis of a gear reducer on an air-cooling system in a nuclear power plant.

Application Method

Application was carried out in accordance with an adapted version of Belzona System Leaflet FBC-2. The substrate was first prepared with a needle gun and grit blasted.Then, one coat of Belzona 5831 was applied (600microns).

Belzona Facts

Because of the corrosion, this chassis needed to be replaced using a 700 tonne crane which is not convenient, really expensive and causes an important loss of production. Belzona products were used in-situ and provided a long-term protection thus avoiding the replacement of the chassis.
