Problem: The standard Poly-sulphide joint repair materials had disintegrated and been lost over time, leaving a wide gap between the concrete slabs of a warehouse floor.
Very slowly, the slabs were still shrinking, leaving a gap which was very gradually increasing in size.
It was noticed that repair costs to Forklifts, wheels, bearing, brakes and other transmission parts were drastically increasing. It was decided to trial a Belzona application to the Expansion Joints to find a more durable and long lasting method

Application Situation
The costs generated by damaged fork lift trucks were spiraling out of control. A trusted contractor to Wincanton, who also dealt with Belzona, offered to trial the jointing method using the highly durable elastomer products that Belzona had to offer
The works are still being trialed and, after a a period of testing, it is expected that there will be over 10km of joints to be carried out using the same spec and application methods
Application Method
Rake out all existing foams and other substances.
Vacuum joint to remove dust and debris
Install foam backer rod to a depth that of half the width of the joint
Apply Belzona 2911 conditioner as per spec
Mix and pour Belzona 2211 Hi-build to complete the finished application
Allow to cure
Belzona Facts
Fork Lift repair and maintenance costs are expected to reduce drastically, thanks to the Belzona application. Almost 1 year on, the joint has held perfectly well. The company are now considering carrying out the same repair to a further 4km+
