Problem: General corrosion and erosion due to long periods between maintenance cycles. Face of mill was beginning to pit badly and some temporary mounting holes needed to be plugged as was causing material to escape.

Mill face was grit blasted. Holes and pitting were filled with Belzona 1311

2 Coats of Belzona 1321 brushed to face to establish a long-lasting abrasion resistant finish suitable for the maintenance cycle.

Application Situation

Repair could be made and touched up later all in-house. Crucial for the unpredictable nature of its maintenance cycle.

Application Method

Contractor grit blasted, rest of application done via plastic tools and brush.

Belzona Facts

They needed some installation training and instruction which Belzona offers through the distributors. Alternative was to replace the entire piece of machinery which would have been a couple months of lead time and large cost. Lighter duty environment so this gives them a long lasting repair with a better wearing face than new.
