Problem: Entrained solids and cavitation caused severe damage to the edges of the runner. Holes and pitting are evident on the runner vanes.

Application Method
Application carried out in accordance with CEP-3 & CEP-5. In-situ blast to near white metal finish, rebuilding to fill pits and holes finally overcoating with two coats Belzona® 1341.
Belzona Facts
Runner replacement would be a several million dollar process involving total removal of the generator sets and dismantling of the penstock. It was not an option. Rebuilding and protection with Belzona will prolong service life.
