Problem: This multi story Hospital has an ice machine in the cafeteria that constantly drips into a floor drain. Over time the water has corroded the pipe and leaked into the office space at the level below. The water leaked onto computer equipment and personal belongings in the office area causing an unhappy office staff, staining on the ceiling with potential for mold, financial loss in damaged equipment, and safety concerns. This problem had been happening for months and finally needed to be stopped.

Application Situation
The cafeteria area that this drain was located in was difficult to access. The ice machine had to be moved along with a plumber to remove the piping for access. The work could only be completed outside of normal business hours because the heavy use of the area to feed the hospital and it's patients. The customer needed a quick curing surface tolerant repair method, that is flexible and corrosion resistant. The area could not be accessed from underneath, making the replacement of the drain pipe not a viable option.
Application Method
Access was given and the drain was dry when we began. Our team taped off the application area, and began surface prep. We used grinders to abrade the metal drain and extend prep onto the concrete floor. Belzona 3121 was applied in a two coat system onto the drain to seal.
