Problem: Due to signs of corrosion and pitting found on the internal surface of this high risk vessel, the client approached the distributor for advice on the protection of the vessel from further erosion/corrosion. Upon information received from the client, the following Belzona products were recommended. For rebuilding, Belzona 1511 (HT paste grade) and for corrosion/erosion Belzona protection Belzona 1593 was recommended. The application team completed the work in 4 days following the IFU specification. This directly contributed to extending the vessel's life expectancy.

Application Situation

Due to the urgency, Belzona saved major time and money compared to vessel replacement. The vessel was opened and inspected during the 2026 plant shutdown period. After inspection it was clear that the vessel required major repair attention and could not be put back into operation and service. Belzona was selected to repair and save the vessel.

Belzona 1511 and 1593 was hand applied to IFU specification.
