Problem: The client had recurring failures of the aged neoprene rubber linings on the site. Reinstatement or repairs with the original lining materials were impossible due to unacceptable downtime and health & safety concerns. A localised repair solution was needed that could be easily applied in confined spaces to complex surfaces, and would allow a fast return to service.

Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-3. After preparing the substrate, Belzona 2911 was applied before repairing the rubber lining with Belzona 2111.

The customer has been using these Belzona liquid applied elastomers across the site now since 2007, with thousands of repairs being completed on their tank linings. Belzona 2911 ensures optimum adhesion to the substrate and is dry in as little as 30 minutes. Belzona 2111 is a solvent free, liquid applied elastomer and can be applied at depths of up to 12mm on a vertical surface, which allows the repairs to be completed in a single application.
