Problem: The stainless steel pipe seam had a defective weld allowing the pulp processing water to leak from the joint and had been for many years.

Original Condition.

Removing the rust and pulp fiber and roughening the surface.

Belzona 1212, 9341, and 9621 in place.

Final layer of Belzona 1212 applied.

Application Situation

This leaking pipe joint had never been fixed because of the need to shut the line down and then weld the stainless steel. It wasn't leaking that bad, so it was never addressed. However, over time, the corrosion being caused by the constant leak was becoming more of a problem.

Application Method

Battery powered grinder was used to both clean and prep the surface, and was washed down with solvent prior to the application.

Belzona Facts

This repair was able to be done because of the water tolerant capabilities of Belzona 1212. That allowed the repair to be completed while the water was leaking.
