Belzona 1391T

Problem: A crack was found on a Stainles Steel LO tank on one of the gas turbine generator sets. The crack ran approximately 5-10cm around a 1" nozzle.

Application Situation

Lube Oil Tanks onboard an FPSO located offshore.

Application Method

Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How system Leaflet TCC-1 and following a client approved Method Statement. A doubler plate was fabricated and sealed in place with Belzona 1511 before Belzona 1391T was injected to cold bond and seal the doubler plate to the tank. This sealed the leak and added extra strenght to the tank.

Belzona Facts

As the facility is hydrocarbon live, hot work was not an option. The Belzona application not only sealed the leak but added extra strength to the tank.
