Application completed with Belzona 1981 with reinforcement mesh Belzona 9371.

Application Situation
The customer left these units untreated and unprotected for many years, resulting in significant deterioration. Welding was not an option due to the thinness of the remaining metal. As a solution, they decided to entrust us with the repair, aiming to restore and extend the service life of these units.
Application Method
All structurally unsound steel areas were removed, and the entire surface was mechanically roughened to ensure proper adhesion. The removal of rusted steel left several large holes, which were addressed by installing metal reinforcing plates. Belzona 1161 was then applied for bonding and sealing, followed by the use of Belzona 9381 in combination with 9371 fiberglass mesh to provide additional reinforcement and durability.
Belzona Facts
The repair was completed in just one day, allowing the customer to restart the units the following day. They were very pleased with the quick turnaround, and their air handling unit is now completely leak-free.
