Application Situation
The Belzona repair offered several significant benefits. Firstly, it provided excellent chemical resistance against hydrochloric acid at high concentrations, safeguarding the tank from further chemical attack and potential leaks. Secondly, the use of Belzona allowed for a cost-effective solution, avoiding the need for costly tank replacements. Additionally, the quick and efficient repair process minimized downtime, ensuring the hydrochloric acid tank was back in operation promptly, saving valuable time and maintaining productivity.
Application Method
Belzona 1511 was used to bond the plate securely along its perimeter, while Belzona 1593 was injected to fill the void and ensure optimal protection against the chemical exposure. To provide comprehensive protection, the top of the plate and its surrounding areas were coated with a layer of Belzona 1593, further enhancing the durability and longevity of the repair.
Belzona Facts
Over a span of three years, we maintained consistent communication with the customer and observed that the repair held up exceptionally well. Interestingly, the equipment encountered new leaks in various areas adjacent to the repaired section, but no issues were reported with the Belzona patch itself.
